This Week in Earlham Baseball

The semester is winding down here at Earlham College and the Quakers' baseball team is continuing their preparation and training for the upcoming 2020 season that is right around the corner! Only three weeks left of classes remain in the semester followed by Finals for the Earlham student body. Mother Nature has granted some great November weather so far that has allowed the Quakers to continue training outdoors and get a lot of quality reps in at Randal R. Sadler Stadium. The all-turf facility at Randal R. Sadler Stadium continues to be a huge advantage for Earlham Baseball, allowing the players to get on-field reps nearly year round while under the lights!

Player Spotlight

Our coaching staff wanted to highlight a couple of our players who this past week took part in the SCUDEM Math Modeling challenge. The challenge involves brainstorming, team work, and confidence building towards solving differential equations presented by each hosting facility. Devin Basley, Brian Pincura, and Joey Gerbus placed 2nd at the challenge held on our campus and our staff couldn’t be prouder of the hard work our student athletes have put in towards the classroom and this competition shows it! ABC's of Earlham
This week's letter for the "ABC's of Earlham" is L for Liberal Arts Education. The term "liberal education" is conventionally taken to mean a philosophy of education that empowers individuals, and cultivates social responsibility. Liberal education is characterized by challenging encounters with important issues, and is more a way of studying than specific content. As a liberal arts college, we facilitate close interaction between faculty and students, while grounding our curricula in the liberal arts disciplines: the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Click here to read more about the values of a liberal arts education here at Earlham College!
